Blackjack Project

About

The first version of my apps logo

Like many things, this whole project started from something else…

There was an idea of a Youtube video in which I would spend a week trying to learn how to count cards, and then at the end of the week, go to a casino and see if I could win with what I had learned. After two days of studying, I knew I would need to begin practicing putting everything together as soon as possible to even have a chance, so I began searching for an app that would let me do so.

Much to my surprise, while there were more than a few apps to practice the counting part of counting cards, and many to play Blackjack, none of them went into detail on the elaborate process, and certainly none of them would let me practice at my own convenience, with tools to make sure I was playing correctly. After a day of fruitless searching, I thought to myself, “Hey, you program, and Blackjack isn’t that complex, why not make your own app?”. So I set off on what I thought would be a month long project, and five months later, this app was ready to hit the market for its first release.

Prototype App

Before I made the App, I made a quick and sloppy build for the web just to have a baseline. Feel free to try it out, although its extremely rough around the edges, to say the least.

It runs better if it’s downloaded and opened directly, so here’s a zip for anyone into that.
